Chris Crow has been appointed as chief editor at CAP.

CAP said the appointment reflects its "constant drive for improvement and best practice across its range of current and future residual values products".

With 16 years' experience in the contract hire and leasing industry, Crow has an understanding of the needs and demands of one of CAP's key customer sectors.

He also has a strong understanding of CAP, gained over many years as a customer of the business.

Crow will focus on developing the operational processes as CAP prepares to bring a range of new and enhanced products to market.

"Chris is an ideal choice to help steer CAP into an increasingly demanding future because his many years as a customer give him invaluable insight into our key strengths and areas where CAP can pursue improvement," said development director Anthony Doherty.

"Working in partnership with our customers has become central to CAP's strategy in recent years and the appointment of Chris Crow is reflective of that core philosophy."

Crow moved into contract hire and leasing from the finance sector in 1994, initially as pricing manager for Lex Vehicle Leasing.

His career then took him to a role at First National (later to become Lloyds TSB Autolease) overseeing purchasing, pricing and acquisitions.

His CV also includes Hitachi Vehicle Capital and the contract hire arm of Reg Vardy. In addition Crow has worked in the capacity of a consultant for a number of major clients, including Leaseplan, as well as creating a vehicle logistics business.

Crow said: "CAP is a great business with major strengths and a wealth of knowledge and I am delighted to take the opportunity to help the whole team move forward to meet the challenges of an increasingly complex market."
