Gamestec has signed a new three-year arrangement with Northgate Vehicle Hire which will see it trial a vehicle monitoring system to reduce fuel costs and improve productivity and efficiency.

Northgate will provide Gamestec with a fleet of 24 Mercedes Sprinter vans with a bespoke Luton box bodies.

In addition, the company will be trialling a new web-based monitoring system developed by Northgate, which allows it to track vehicles live online using Google Maps.

The system’s reporting features allow the operator to view fleet utilisation and overall productivity, compare overtime claims with the number of hours worked, report on the number of hours spent driving and obtain the exact time a driver arrived and departed from a destination.

Wendy Barton, fleet manager at Gamestec, said: “We are pleased to be working with Northgate as it was able to provide bespoke vehicles which met the needs of our installers. The new tracking system also has great potential to help our business by reducing fuel costs and overtime claims and helping us make sure we are using the fleet in the most efficient way possible.”

Northgate Vehicle Hire sales and marketing director Gareth Jones said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Gamestec and tailoring our services to meet their specific needs. We are very much looking forward to working closely with them as they reinforce and grow their position as the market leader.”
