Jaguar academy of Sport 2011 annual awards nominees announced

The Jaguar Academy of Sport is pleased to announce the Award Nominees for the second Jaguar Academy of Sport Annual Awards at The Savoy on 27th November 2011. The evening will be hosted by James Corden and Kirsty Gallacher and is a celebration of the best of British sporting achievements from across the past year.

The event partner, Garrard, has designed and produced new exquisite trophies exclusively for the Academy, which will be presented to our Award winners on the evening.

Nominees within the various Award categories include Mo Farah, Dai Greene, Darren Clarke, Kerri-Anne Payne and the England Cricket Team. A particular highlight will be the presentation of the Special Recognition Award to five of the best performing Rising Stars from the Bursary Programme. Of these five Rising Stars, one young athlete will be presented with the Jaguar Academy of Sport Star of the Future Award.

Most inspirational british sportsman of the year
Most inspirational british sportswoman of the year
British sporting performance of the year
British sporting performance for an athlete with a disability

Kirsty Gallacher, Jaguar Academy of Sport Member and also hosting on the night, commented: "I am honoured to be hosting this year's Jaguar Academy of Sport Annual Awards. I attended last year and it was such a great event supporting Britain's sports stars of tomorrow. The Academy is such a great programme, which is really investing in the next generation of sporting talent."

The Jaguar Academy of Sport aims to recognise, celebrate and inspire the very best of British sporting talent and success. This is fulfilled through a Bursary Fund and a unique Mentoring and Education Programme delivered through a series of workshops and talent days. Mentoring is key to the Academy and provides all the Rising Stars with the non-financial support they need in order to be successful and provides our Rising Stars with the opportunity to work with Britain’s sporting greats and their heroes who they hope to emulate.
