Ferrari has been honoured to once again receive two prestigious awards from BBC Top Gear Magazine. In addition to the British magazine awarding the innovative FF, Ferrari’s V12 four-seat flagship, “Estate Car of the Year”, they also awarded the 458 Spider “Cabriolet of the Year”. This brings Ferrari’s tally of Top Gear Magazine Awards to the astonishing figure of 10 in nine years.

The FF is a unique shooting-brake which can seat four adults in comfort, and it also brings four-wheel drive to the Prancing Horse for the first time with its patented 4RM system. In its review of the Car of the Year awards in this month’s issue, BBC Top Gear Magazine commented: “The FF is the most un-Ferrari Ferrari of modern times, perhaps, but also a stroke of genius, a reinvention of the grand-tourer concept. The FF beats to the rhythm of the Cavallino Rampante, only with added saddlebags, and that combination makes it our Estate of the Year.”

The 458 Spider continues a long tradition of mid-engined V8 convertibles for Ferrari, but this is the first time that a mid-engined sports car has featured a folding hard-top, making it a perfect combination of performance and glamourous style. “We were joyfully surprised by the ability of the Spider to ape the coupé’s dynamics, its complete understanding of what elevates a mid-engined supercar from the merely good to the definitively great. This is the first time you should be considering the Spider variant over the coupé. It really is that good.”
