Toyota and Lexus are performing beyond the expectations of Britain’s fleet managers in key areas, according to a survey.

The 2011 Fleet Operator Attitude Survey from automotive research specialists Sewells reveals that “quality and reliability” and “service, maintenance and repair costs” are the most important considerations for fleet customers when choosing vehicles.

The study shows that these are areas where Toyota excels, achieving the highest rating among ‘mainstream’ manufacturers for SMR costs and also received high praise for the quality and reliability of its vehicles.

Lexus was similarly ranked highest for SMR costs among the premium car brands.

Toyota Lexus Fleet Services says the survey results support its commitment to meeting the priorities of customers and delivering a comprehensive range of models, tailored to suit their needs.

Ewan Shepherd, general manager Toyota Lexus Fleet Services, said: “We are delighted with the results from the Sewell’s survey; it is great that our efforts are being recognised by decision makers in the industry.

“As our recent conference proved, with the extra investment we are making, fleet is now a major focus for 2012 and beyond. We will be working hard over the next few years to make sure Toyota and Lexus Fleet meet the needs of our customers, offering an all-round value service to business users and delivering innovative new products.”
