Volkswagen vans scoops three What Van? Awards

The magazine awarded its hat-trick of honours to three separate models in the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle range with the Amarok winning the ‘Pick-up of the Year’ category, Caddy 4MOTION claiming the title of ‘4x4 Van of the Year’ title and the Transporter Sportline named as ‘Editor’s Choice’.

Volkswagen’s two best-selling vans, the Caddy and Transporter, were also highly commended in the Light Van and Medium Van categories, respectively.

‘It’s my pleasure to hand over a trio of What Van? Awards to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles,’ said What Van? editor, Paul Barker.

‘The Amarok has moved the game on significantly in the pick-up sector, while the Caddy 4MOTION fills a small but important niche, and the Transporter Sportline is the most desirable light commercial vehicle on sale. The Transporter and Caddy are also excellent products that we were delighted to Highly Commend,’ he continued.

Commenting on the awards, Alex Smith, director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles said: ‘These awards join a magnificent array of honours our vehicles have received this year and, with the recent accolade of the Most Reliable Van Manufacturer in the FN50 awards from Fleet News magazine, proves we have one of the freshest, most efficient and desirable ranges of commercial vehicles currently available.’
