National Mobile Windscreens is bucking the trend in the glass repair market place posting a 20% increase in revenue and a 24% increase in staff.

The winner of the Customer Service award at the 2010 Fleet News Awards has expanded as rival companies have struggled.

Auto Windscreens was forced into administration in February this year and Autoglass has just announced a consultation period for up to 400 of its 3,000 staff in the UK.

Phil Lomas, managing director,of National Mobile Windscreens, which marks 40 years in business in 2011, said: “We have continued to focus on our core business and listened to our customers’ requirements.

“In addition we have invested heavily in development of our IT systems to ensure that our customer delivery closely matches the needs of both the insurance and fleet markets.

“Finally, the flexible management information that we provide is welcomed by our growing customer base and they tell us that we are ticking all of the boxes.”

Autoglass owner Belron blamed rising fuel costs forcing people to drive more carefully, along with mild periods during the winter, resulting in fewer accidents that needed glass repair or replacement.
