SsangYong will be reveal a new compact concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

The Concept XUV 1 is described as a ‘crossover utility vehicle’ and if launched as a production versions will rival the Nissan Juke and Kia Soul. The appearance even hints at the Range Rover Evoque, signalling major progress on the design front compared to SsangYong utility vehicles of old.

The name comes from ‘Excellent User Interface Vehicle 1’ as SsangYong claims the interior is ‘packed with the latest automotive technology’. Even the seating layout is unusual, with 1+1+2 or 1+3 seating layouts.
