Fleet News has confirmed the final speaker line-up for the ‘Fleet News Congress: Reducing costs with a greener fleet’, which is being held on Tuesday, October 18, at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

The speakers join a range of fleet and automotive experts providing cost saving initiatives and best practice workshops specifically targeted to help today’s fleet decision makers.

The final line-up includes:

• Fleet News featured speaker: Charlie Browne, environmental manager at Swedish home furnishing giant IKEA. Charlie Brown has worked in the field for more than a decade with his main focus being store operations, including waste management, energy conservation and resource efficiency. His current priorities are the implementation of renewable energy into Ikea buildings, and green travel plans. He will outline how Ikea’s environmental initiatives have been implemented, how environmental strategies are linked to bottom-line profit and how to retain support at director level if they initially appear costly.

Richard Flint, head of transport at North Yorkshire Police. Police fleets have been set tough budgetary targets by the Government. Multi-Fleet News Award winner Richard Flint will draw on his huge experience to discuss how he is reducing costs without compromising safety, with a particular focus on purchase costs and vehicle utilisation.

Michael Collins, general manager export department at Mediterranean Shipping Company: Michael Collins will provide a fresh perspective into running a successful fleet, as delegates will be able to learn lessons from another industry. MSC is one of the world’s largest shipping lines and Collins will discuss many aspects of running a challenging fleet and initiatives to reduce road mileage.

Nigel Underdown from the Energy Saving Trust will explain why fleet managers need to look beyond the metal over the next few years to find real savings.

There will be plenty of opportunity to meet with other like-minded fleet managers and share information and experiences, helping delegates in their roles by providing access to other fleet decision makers throughout the day.

In addition, there will be a range of exhibitors with new products and services on offer.
