Keyfuels helps keep costs low for Wales & West Utilities

Fuel card and fuel management solutions provider Keyfuels is working in partnership with Wales & West Utilities to help it manage its fleet more efficiently.

Wales & West Utilities provides gas in Wales and the South West of England, with a network spanning more than 35,000km of gas works. The company serves a population of more than 7.4million people, the equivalent of 1/6 of the population of the UK.

With a large mixed fleet of more than 800 vehicles, it’s imperative to the profitability of Wales & West that the fleet operates at maximum efficiency, says Keyfuels.

Andrew Pettiford, transport manager at Wales & West Utilities said: “With fuel making up a significant portion of our overall fleet expenditure, it’s vitally important that we use a network that allows us to keep track of our costs and has significant coverage of our core area.

“The Keyfuels network allows us to do this, as it offers an excellent number of sites that are easy and convenient for all of our drivers to access.”

When it comes to keeping fleets as cost effective as possible, it’s not just about the price of fuel, explains Keyfuels.

The ability to accurately measure and monitor fuel usage is a key factor. Keyfuels offer fuel management, from assessing client needs ensuring they are on the right fuel plan to a variety of management tools such as E-Fuels, which can be used to monitor fuel usage in real time. All of the tools can be quickly and easily accessed from Keyfuels’ newly launched website.

“The new website and fuel solution tools are great as they allow us to effectively monitor the needs of our fleet,” continued Pettiford.

“We can access information and print off reports that are vital to assessing our needs as a large fleet and the system enables us to make the right decisions for the profitability of the company.”

Dave Matthews, account manager for Keyfuels, said: “The Keyfuels network has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years and Wales and West is a great new partnership.

“Wales & West Utilities is the first utility company to benefit from Keyfuels fuel and fuelcard solutions. Thanks to our extensive support, Wales & West is able to monitor its fleet closer than ever, while our position as the UK’s leading wholesale priced network ensure they are getting the best deal.”
