The new £1 million distribution centre is now operational at National Mobile Windscreens’ Bristol HQ.

The new 22,000sq ft facility was completed on time and within budget by Bristol-based construction company Tercon, and provides greatly improved storage to supply the branch network and meet the increased demand for the company’s round-the-clock services to major fleet, insurance, haulage and transport sectors.

Phil Lomas, managing director said that all supplies are now unloaded and stored in dry, well-lit conditions, and bar coding of inbound bulk goods is scheduled to be implemented at the end of February.

“This will speed up the booking in and locating of new deliveries and also help to improve the replenishment process in the main picking warehouse,” he said.

George Douglas, founder and chairman said: “This significant investment was essential to meet the demands of our rapidly expanding business and to accommodate our plans for future growth.

“This new facility is already paying dividends in terms of the quality of service that we provide to our customers and is enhancing the speed and efficiency of our operations.”

Bristol-based National Mobile Windscreens has 114 branches nationwide and a fleet of more than 800 mobile units to provide a rapid response to emergency calls.
