Independent wine merchant Laithwaites has implemented an eyecare voucher system provided by Specsavers Corporate Eyecare.

Employing more than 500 people, Laithwaites is using VDU vouchers to provide eyecare for all screen-users.

Della Hamblin, health and safety officer at Laithwaites, said: “There is no administration needed with the vouchers; we simply purchase them as and when we need them and hand them out to qualifying staff.”

Suzanne Randall, corporate account manager for Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, said: “Laithwaites has many screen-users in its call centres and offices. The VDU vouchers enable them to offer a consistent level of care to all employees at a fixed low cost.

“Our VDU vouchers are specifically designed to meet the requirements of the health and safety regulations regarding display screen equipment and provide employees with both a full eye examination and glasses, if required, in one simple transaction.”
