LeasePlan has announced the creation of its new remarketing team as part of its business strategy to maximise remarketing values in a volatile market. Headed by James Hopkins, the team will focus on LeasePlan’s auction offering and direct sales.

The twelve-strong team is indicative of LeasePlan’s renewed focus in the area and they will work to strengthen LeasePlan’s existing relationship with auction partners BCA, Manheim and Aston Barclay.

Hopkins was appointed to the role of head of remarketing in May 2011, since when he has been working on expanding the team in 2012.

Other members of the team include Steve Jackson, general manager, direct sales, who joins from an international position with Manheim; and Paul Mason, general manager, auction sales, recently promoted from within the team who has over 28 years of automotive industry experience.

Hopkins said: “Since I joined LeasePlan, I’ve been focusing on bringing in the best talent to support the company’s ambitious plans. Delivering growth in remarketing is an important part of LeasePlan’s corporate strategy and the senior team has shown its commitment by boosting our capabilities.

“With the team now in place, I’m confident that we can help realise LeasePlan’s remarketing potential and fulfil our goal to be Leaders in Leasing.”
