Interactive Fleet Management launched the year with a management seminar, advising fleet managers and decision-makers how they could shave up to 12% from their fleet budgets in 2012.

Focusing on a broad range of cost saving techniques the workshop, at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, was based around an interactive session working with a select group of fleet operators.

“We decided to run the workshop because fleet management has moved on significantly in recent years, and the thinking behind it has changed,” said Jayne Pett, operations director at Interactive Fleet Management.

“New, innovative methods exist to cut fuel expenditure and the tighter controls presented at the workshop are proven to deliver fuel savings alone of up to 25% across a vehicle fleet.

“To save money in other areas we also looked at managed multi-bid contract hire, which is a modern solution to managing contract hire providers as well as reducing costs, and we studied the latest forms of vehicle, maintenance and accident management techniques.”
