Valeo has announced an extension of its OE exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) range, with 14 new applications now available to the independent aftermarket.

The range increases to 26 parts in total, with applications now available for models including Range Rover, Renault, Citroen, Peugeot, Audi and Ford.

Sharna Russell, product manager at Valeo, commented: “It is important to ensure that a vehicle’s EGR system is regularly checked to verify that it is operating at optimum capacity. Otherwise this could potentially lead to a costly and ineffective air management system. EGR valves can accumulate debris over time and as a result get stuck in the open or closed position, which leads to a failure of the emissions test. In some instances, the car reverts to ‘safe’ mode as a result of EGR failure.

“As the OE manufacturer of all EGRs in our range, we can guarantee their quality and reliability. We strongly recommend an OE product is used to provide the most efficient air management system, ensuring higher levels of performance and increased lifespan.

“In addition to our EGR range, we cover the complete engine cooling loop and offer an extensive portfolio of products in our thermal range, including water pumps, air intake throttles, water temperature sensors, thermoswitches and thermostats. The 2011/2012 thermal systems catalogue showcases our extensive range of parts.”
