Leeds-based Masternaut has been inspired by employees to raise funds for cancer support charities through a series of company events.

Masternaut’s latest fundraising efforts include a bake sale, bring and buy and a raffle for Easter hampers to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Over £1,000 has been raised by employees so far.

Last year, Masternaut produced its very own naked notebook - called 'Supporting a Safer Journey' - to raise funds. Wearing nothing but pink ties and hard hats, 30 employees took part in a photoshoot, posing on vehicle equipment and machinery to raise almost £7,000 for The Haven breast cancer support centre in Leeds.

“We’re always thinking about new ways to fundraise,” said Masternaut employees Sonya Greer and Lauren Watson. “The naked calendar was certainly eye-catching. This year we aiming to bring more of the company together for a series of events aimed at getting people to dig deep. We’re overwhelmed by the support of our colleagues in helping to achieve this.”

Cancer Research UK carries out research to improve our understanding of cancer and find out how to prevent, diagnose and treat different kinds of cancer. These findings are used to improve the lives of cancer patients and to make people aware of the choices each person can make.
