Goodyear Dunlop has announced that it has completed the testing of some 500 different truck tyres, covering 16 tyre types in over 55 different sizes, ensuring that these are ready to meet new European tyre label regulations as of November 1, 2012.

The testing was carried out at the Goodyear Innovation Center in Luxemburg, which is the company’s main tyre and design development facility in the region, and directly connected to one of the company’s main truck tyre production centers.

Goodyear Dunlop is required to test all its tyres. This is to enable it to conform to a new European regulation requiring that all tyres have a European label, displaying three key performance criteria, by November of this year. The new regulation requires each manufacturer to test tyres for the new gradings, based on strict EU criteria.

“We are enthusiastic about the arrival of the label because it will be another confirmation that our tyres deliver on what we build – fuel efficiency without compromising on safety”, said Boris Stevanovic, marketing director Truck Tyres, Goodyear Dunlop EMEA.
