Fuel Duty Comment: The Fuelcard Company

Comment from Jakes de Kock, marketing director of The Fuelcard Company on the announcement that the proposed 3p rise in fuel duty has been deferred:

“This is fantastic news and a real credit to FairFuelUK’s tireless campaigning. I am delighted that the Government has finally responded to pressure and appears to have realised the seriously detrimental impact rising fuel prices have on the future of UK business.

“Fleets are already struggling to keep costs low in order to retain and build their customer base with ever-escalating fuel prices making it increasingly difficult to break even and thus survive. The decision to defer this 3p rise is encouraging and spells hope for recovery of both the fleet sector and the UK economy as a whole.”
