DHL's wholly-owned event management arm, Inside Track, has been awarded a contract to manage the Vindis Group’s fleet delivery programme.

Under the agreement, DHL will manage in excess of 4,000 vehicle movements per year including new vehicles and demonstrators from the Group’s compound at Alconbury, Cambridgeshire.

While the majority of these will be in the East of England, aligned to the dealer group’s geographic presence, the contract also includes scope for national deliveries.

Previously, Vindis managed its fleet programme through multiple service providers, resulting in varying levels of performance.

By moving to a single supplier, DHL now aims to reduce costs and improve consistency of service.

As part of the solution, PDA technology will be deployed to provide vehicle recipients with increased levels of delivery visibility.

Introduced in 2010, the handheld units enable a vehicle’s positional status to be tracked in real time, removing the need for excessive paperwork and ensuring a smoother handover.

The PDA can also be configured to specific delivery requirements, allowing the delivery driver to communicate in-depth knowledge of the particular brand and model derivative, enhancing customer experience and brand perception.
