FleetCor acquires Epyx

FleetCor Technologies, a global provider of fuel cards and workforce payment products to businesses, has announced that it has acquired Epyx from HgCapital and management.

FleetCor’s main trading brand in the UK is the Allstar fuel card, which it bought from Arval in December, 2011.

Epyx provides an internet based system and a vehicle repair network of approximately 9,000 service garages to fleet operators in the UK.

The Epyx service automates repair authorisation, schedules service appointments, control costs and aims to simplify overall vehicle service administration.

The company earns transaction fees on each of the millions of service incidents that it supports each year.

Ron Clarke, chairman and chief executive officer at FleetCor Technologies, said: “We’ve been looking for ideas to extend beyond fleet fuelling, to fleet maintenance, and Epyx has done that.

“They’ve developed a highly specialised system that helps their fleet customers better manage their overall maintenance life cycle and costs. We like the potential to bring this solution to a lot more clients.”
