Mercedes-Benz dealers to stock cold weather tyres

Mercedes-Benz is hoping to meet anticipated demand for cold weather tyres by keeping them in stock at dealers.

Cold weather tyres are optimised for temperatures below seven degrees Celsius, not just when there is snow on the ground.

Developed with higher levels of natural rubber compound, which remain supple at low temperatures, the tyres provide better grip and traction on wet, icy and snow-covered roads. The wide grooves also provide extra grip when accelerating and braking, reducing the chances of skidding.

Fitting cold weather tyres can improve braking distances by up to 50% on snow-covered roads and by four metres on wet and cold roads. They are also 20% more durable than standard warm weather tyres at low temperatures.

All tyres and wheels offered by Mercedes-Benz are developed in collaboration with the experts at the key tyre manufacturers and are specially tailored to each vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz range.

Cold Weather Tyre and Wheel packages are available from £950 including VAT from all Mercedes-Benz Retailers who will ensure customers have the appropriate package for their specific vehicle.
