General Dynamics UK has unveiled its One Box Single Vehicle Architecture (OBSVA) solution for police vehicles at this year’s Security and Policing show in Farnborough, Hampshire.

The solution aims to remove the multiplicity of on-board systems currently in-service and acts as the brain of the police vehicle, connecting it in real-time with commanders in control rooms, providing instant intelligence to those commanders and their officers on the ground and making them more operationally efficient.

The system can also help deliver potential, significant cost savings to police forces by monitoring how the vehicles are being used and by protecting residual values through smarter integration of the equipment into the vehicle.

In addition, the OBSVA solution from General Dynamics UK delivers a Driver Vehicle Data Management System (DVDMS) and Automatic Number Plate Recognition capabilities as required by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).
