Helicopter charity, Wales Air Ambulance, has sought out the services of Days Contract Hire in helping expand its growing retail operation.
The Swansea based fleet solutions company has supplied the commercial division of the charity with a fleet of vans that collect and transport donated goods to its 16 shops across Wales.
Days Contact Hire was able to provide the most suitable vehicles for the charity, as part of its tailored consultancy process which is provided to each client.
By offering Wales Air Ambulance this bespoke service, Days has provided the most suitable vehicles at the most cost effective rates, to ensure that the charity continues with its day-to-day business as efficiently as possible.
Over £1.5 million has been generated by the charity’s shops in the last 12 months and the vans are a vital part of the logistics required to keep all 16 shops stocked.
The charity, which provides emergency air cover for life-threatening illness or injury across Wales, relies entirely on donations to raise £6 million each year for its three helicopters.
Wales Air Ambulance commercial manager Allan Devonald said: “With these vans we are able to provide a free collection service for furniture and other donated goods, which then go straight to our shops for sale.
“On average we make over 1500 collections and deliveries each month, making the vans an essential part of our successful operation.
“Keeping our overheads down is very important and, by working with the Days Contract Hire team, we have made the right decisions. Their personal approach made sure that the correct vehicles were selected for the charity.”
