Northgate helps Basildon charity deliver vital food supplies

Northgate Vehicle Hire has supported Basildon’s food bank not for profit organisation, Choices Family Support Service, by providing a vehicle free of charge to allow the charity to transport donations.

The charity, providing free food and other vital assistance to people in the Basildon borough, has teamed up with local businesses to create a stronger, more resilient local community via the ‘Tins & Things’ initiative.

Peter Trinnaman, branch manager at Northgate’s Basildon branch, said: “Choices Family is dedicated to supporting the local community and ensuring families that are suffering financial hardship have access to food and other essentials. Northgate was keen to support the cause, so when the opportunity to transport the food donations presented itself, we were more that happy to provide a vehicle free of charge.”

Susanna Caira-Neeson, managing director at Choices Family, said: “Over recent years it has become clear that food banks are vital for many people within the Basildon community. Whether families find themselves out of long-term work or are just going through a patch of financial difficulty, we are here to support them. We are grateful to Northgate for its help and would like to take this opportunity to thank the team for providing a vital link in our support chain.”
