National Windscreens has strengthened its corporate leadership team with the appointment of an additional director to its board and a dedicated business development director.

The independently-owned company’s finance director, Kashmir Sanghera, has joined the board of directors and Barry Donaldson started as business development director on December 1, 2013.

Both appointments have been made following a period of significant growth to ensure the company can keep the momentum going to drive further expansion over the next five years.

Sanghera joined National Windscreens in January 2013, bringing a wealth of management experience to the table, having spent more than 12 years in managerial and consultancy positions for a number of organisations, including some in the automotive industry.

Donaldson brings more than 22 years’ experience of business development in the vehicle glass sector to National Windscreens.

National Windscreens’ business has grown by more than 40% over the past five years - last year alone turnover grew by 6%.

A significant proportion of this growth can be attributed to the company’s strategic decision to focus on working closely with the insurance and fleet sectors.

Pete Marsden, commercial director, said: “The vehicle glass industry remains extremely competitive and we are constantly reviewing our business to ensure we offer the best possible service to all of our clients.

"National Windscreens has established dedicated service offerings for its corporate clients based on its extensive experience of the issues faced by these sectors. This approach has reaped significant benefits – we are now sole provider to a number of the UK’s leading insurance providers and 32 of the FN50 car fleets.”

Sanghera's appointment to the board will help ensure the potential financial implications of decisions is taken into account when deciding the company’s future strategic direction.

He said: “The last 12 months have been extremely fast-paced, having joined the company during its most profitable year to date.

"I am looking forward to playing a greater role in the future direction of National Windscreens to ensure we achieve our aim of becoming the clear market leader in automotive glass repairs and replacements.”
