Trade usage of apps to sell and buy vehicles, especially ex-fleet, has increased by more than 50% this year, according to Epyx.

The statistic is based on usage surrounding its 1link Disposal Network e-commerce platform, which includes an app that delivers almost all the functionality of the desktop site on the move.

David Goodyear, head of business development, said: “We are very much seeing a situation where the buying and selling of vehicles is becoming a 24 hour process. It takes place around the clock, in the office, at home and on the move.

“For buyers, in a market where there remains dealer shortages of some of the most desirable stock, apps allow you to move quickly when the right vehicles appear for sale.

“For sellers such as fleets and dealers, apps allow you to monitor the current sales situation of your stock in real time.

Epyx will be adding to its core 1link Disposal Network app with a new 1link Appraisal app in December that will be introduced to help provide seamless new and used vehicle handovers.
