Fleet drivers wanted for TRL diabetes survey

The Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) is investigating the experiences of UK fleet drivers who have Type 2 diabetes, especially those with Group 2 licences for lorries or buses.

The study is exploring how professional drivers with Type 2 diabetes manage their condition and looks at the effects of certain medications on driving. There are close to 3 million people in the UK with Type 2 diabetes and it is thought that about 0.5 million of these drive for work, yet very little research has been carried out to support the needs of drivers with diabetes.

TRL would like to hear from all UK licence holders with Type 2 diabetes who drive professionally for work purposes. This survey has been produced by TRL on behalf of and fully funded by MSD (Merck, Sharpe & Dohme). It takes about 20 minutes to complete the online survey and drivers who do this can enter a free prize draw, with first prize being £150. Responses will be kept anonymous.
