ALD Automotive acquires Finnish firm Easy KM

ALD Automotive Finland has acquired fleet management company Easy KM, which manages a fleet of 8,000 vehicles.

The closing of the transaction is expected to take place in the second half of 2014, after the obtainment of the necessary consent of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.

ALD says the acquisition will aim at unique expertise in serving the public and municipal sector.

“Our view is that ALD Finland as a central operator in the industry in Finland is an excellent option as a buyer. By this transaction Governia Oy executes the task given to it by the state-owner to increase the owner value of its holdings. The transaction strengthens the company’s solvency, which for its part secures the company’s ability to receive new extraordinary tasks in the future”, said current owner, state investment company Governia Oy’s managing director Timo Kankuri.

“With this transaction, ALD Finland acquires a unique expertise in offering tailor-made solutions to the public sector and reinforces its capabilities in commercial vehicle management. We warmly welcome our new customers and are looking forward to serving them” added Pekka Kivinen, managing director of ALD Finland.
