Clarks Vehicle Conversions has been awarded a contract worth more than £670,000 to deliver fleet conversion services for Northern Gas Network.

The Doncaster-based vehicle converter will manage the conversion of 230 vehicles from design to delivery in a project that will take place over seven months.

Northern Gas Network distributes gas tomore than 2.5 million homes in the North of England and looks after more than 36,000km of pipework from the Scottish border to South Yorkshire.

Clarks will fit Gentili modular racking into the fleet of Ford Transits, Customs and Connects and manage other providers who will install specialist equipment in the vans.

David Healy, finance and commercial manager at Clarks, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract and look forward to working with Northern Gas Network.

“With our ‘one-stop shop’ approach we can convert the vans in our workshop, work with other providers to enhance them and then deliver them back to the customer complete.”

The converter will provide a hand-over to Northern Gas Network’s operators at their premises throughout the UK and offer nationwide aftersales support on the conversions.
