Fleets, manufacturers and suppliers still have time to enter the 2023 Fleet News Wellbeing Award, sponsored by Cox Automotive (scroll down for entry form).

The award, launched in 2021 in memory of the much-loved and greatly-missed Cox employee James Davis, recognises the important work carried out by employers in the fleet sector to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of their staff.

Programmes could include offering supportive networks, training, health initiatives, engagement of teams and a clear commitment to a vision and strategy that promotes wellbeing across the business.

Last year, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and LeasePlan UK were crowned joint winners of the award.

Enterprise was recognised for its commitment to employee's physical, mental and financial wellbeing through a sustained programme of support, led by employees, and reflecting both wellbeing needs from global events such as Covid and the personal needs of each employee.

A spokesperson at Enterprise said: "Strong emphasis is placed on vulnerable, inclusive leadership, where managers encourage empathy and demonstrate that bringing one's whole self to work sometimes means sharing moments when we need help.

"Together with specific initiatives and structures, this culture provides a nurturing environment within which employees can thrive, and support mechanisms when problems arise."

LeasePlan UK was also recognised for its Health and Wellbeing Strategy which saw the company launch new wellbeing initiatives, resulting in all time high employee engagement.

Staff testimonials at LeasePlan UK summed up what the award, and the winner, are all about.

One said: "I have had the opportunity to grow and develop here, my wellbeing is put first and I genuinely love my job and my team."

Another said: "I have been so impressed with the support for employees with regards to cost of living and mental health. For me, I have autonomy, trust and support. My voice is also heard."
