Company Car In Action 2019, the UK's biggest industry ride and drive event at Millbrook Proving Ground, has achieved a record attendance with an estimated 1,000 fleet decision-makers defying the weather and attending the event.

The final audited attendance figures will be published in due course.

The two-day Fleet News’ event offered 300 new models for unaccompanied test drives on the Bedfordshire location’s 35 miles of varied test tracks, including hill routes, high speed bowl and off road courses.

Electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid cars were avalable, alongside conventional diesel and petrol models.

Test routes included the high-speed bowl, which allows vehicles to be driven in motorway conditions and reach speeds of up to 100mph.

This year's first drive opportunites included the facelifted Jaguar XE, Kia E-Niro and Toyota Camry.

The Alpine course has not only been used as the setting for a number of on-screen car chases, but also provides the ideal testing ground for handling, performance and ride comfort.

On the city route, drivers can test low speed manoeuvrability along with driver assistance systems such as automatic parking and low speed emergency braking.

With a range of off-road vehicles available at CCIA, they can be pushed to their limits on Millbrook’s vast off-road course.

Test drives available at CCIA would not be possible on public roads.

On top of the driving, there are a range of exhibits and seminars proving insight into the latest issues and trends in the fleet sector.
