Daimler Truck UK has launced its new TruckCharge consultancy service offering fleet operators free advice and support as they prepare to transition to electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs).

The new initiative aims to help businesses assess the suitability of electric trucks for their operations, covering areas such as infrastructure planning, operational integration and cost-benefit analysis.

“As every depot and operation is different, we’ve launched TruckCharge to help customers overcome perceived barriers to electrification,” said Ibrahim Kraria, eConsultancy manager at Daimler Truck UK.

“We can help them determine the right charging infrastructure, assess current and future requirements and offer clear insight into costs, potential grants and operational benefits.”

TruckCharge focuses on three key areas: initial consultation, infrastructure and operations.

The service includes advice on transformation strategies to meet decarbonisation and environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets, as well as route and cost modelling.

Operational support includes digital charging management and payment integration through the Mercedes ServiceCard.

Daimler Truck has partnered with Vital EV, a specialist in ultra-rapid DC charging solutions, to provide design, installation and ongoing support for TruckCharge customers.

All installations and support services will be backed by a 24/7, 365-day-a-year support team, with remote diagnostics and on-site service levels that can respond within four hours.
