The first meeting of the new Empowering Women in Fleet initiative from Fleet News will be taking place tomorrow (June 27) at DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Milton Keynes.

This fleet news event will bring together end-user fleet professionals - including fleet managers, procurement leaders, HR professionals, finance executives, and operational heads - to champion and celebrate the achievements of women in the sector.

Held quarterly, Empowering Women in Fleet will include a series of roundtable discussions and presentations from inspirational women.

Dr Jo Salter MBE, the first female RAF fast jet pilot will share her story, and Ann-Marie Dunbar, director of the global fleet program at Gilead Sciences will discuss her journey as a fleet professional.

Fleet News editor Stephen Briers said: “We believe this initiative presents a valuable opportunity to collaboratively shape a more inclusive future for our industry, one where all voices are heard and celebrated.”

An advisory board made up of leading female fleet professionals is guiding the direction and development and direction of this initiative.

Board member Denise Hawkins, fleet manager at Stannah Management Services, said:

“I’m really excited about the potential of this initiative. We aim to create a safe, inclusive space where women in fleet can develop, participate, and showcase the exceptional work they do. By identifying and addressing the barriers to equality, we hope to drive lasting change.”

Leah Lindsay, fleet and employee benefits manager at MWH Treatment, added:

“Empowering Women in Fleet has the potential to create meaningful change. I hope it encourages people to think differently and take action toward a more inclusive future.”
