Cenex-LCV2018 opened its doors today (Wednesday, September 12) at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire. The two-day event is organised by Cenex, working with Millbrook and supporting partners from Government and its agencies.

Up to 4,000 delegates are expected to attend Cenex-LCV2018. They will include VIPs from the UK Government’s first Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) Summit, which began in Birmingham yesterday (September 11).

Attendees will be able to take part in a comprehensive seminar programme, a technology exhibition with broad B2B focus, a ride and drive in a test track environment and networking activities.

Highlights of the two-day event include: speakers include Graham Hoare, Ford Motor Company and Automotive Council Technology Group; Ian Constance from APC and Dr Ian Campbell from Innovate UK.

Furthermore, more than 90 senior figures from the industry, including Nissan, the Ford Motor Company, McLaren and the National Grid, will join other innovators, experts and policy-makers to review and discuss the future of low carbon vehicles and supporting energy infrastructure in our largest-ever seminar programme.

Topics include trends in electric vehicles (EVs) and e-mobility, CAV technology and market development, ultra-low emissions vehicle (ULEV) policy and the market trends, and smart-charging solutions for EV business fleets.

Robert Evans, CEO of Cenex, said: “Interest is accelerating in advanced low emission vehicles, helped by increased sales and the publication of the Industrial Strategy and the UK Government’s Road to Zero emissions strategy.

“Our event brings together the automotive community working on low emissions, along with the energy sector, who will play a part in transitioning the UK’s energy ecosystem to power these vehicles.

“We are also hosting the CAV community that will help deliver driverless cars, trucks and public transport.

“Our event is designed to bring these communities together, in one place, to showcase the latest technology, discuss key techno-market and policy themes and set the agenda for innovation for the years ahead.”
