BT Fleet is looking to recruit 30 qualified vehicle technicians and six apprentices across its London-based garage network following increasing demand.

Mark Wolfe, head of garage network for BT Fleet, said: “We’re speeding up recruitment of new vehicle technicians to meet increasing demand for our garage services.

"Increasingly, BT Fleet is providing services for a wide range of organisations and companies as well as BT’s own vehicles.

"We now work with a number of private and public sector organisations and are seeing unprecedented growth opportunities following new product launches, contract extensions, partnerships and high demand for out-of-hours servicing.”

BT Fleet, which has eight garages in the London area, has changed the way it recruits by making better use of advertising channels such as social media, online advertising and targeted emails.

Wolfe added: "We’ve already taken on more than 60 new vehicle technicians this year. Forty percent are as a result of referrals from our BT Fleet workforce and more are in the pipeline.”

BT also pledged to provide up to 1,500 vocational training and work experience placements for out of work youngsters over the next 18-months.
