Telematics and data provider Trakm8 has been awarded an initial contract by Mecalac Construction Equipment UK (previously Terex GB) for a minimum of 2,000 telematics units.

The latest generation T10 telematics devices will be provided to Mecalac, which designs and manufacturers compact plant equipment, over three years.

As part of the agreement, products will be sold to Mecalac customers worldwide.

Data supplied is based on Trakm8’s Asset solution to monitor the machines' health and usage based on Trakm8’s automotive diagnostic knowledge.

John Watkins, executive chairman of Trakm8, said: "We are delighted to have Mecalac as a customer for Trakm8’s construction equipment telematics solutions."

Lee Aldridge, programme manager of Mecalac Construction Equipment UK, added: “Over the past few years, we’ve seen customer demand for telematics capability increase significantly.”
