City Auction Group has reported significant growth following the launch of its regional defleet centres.

The company has experienced an increase of 300% in vehicles moved to its Rockingham auction centre from six of its10 defleet centres.

London and Glasgow recorded the largest increase in vehicle throughput, up by 250%.

The 10 defleet centres are based in London E15, Glasgow, Hartlepool, Stoke, Doncaster, Colchester, Bristol, Omagh, Dublin and Cork, Republic of Ireland.

City Auction Group attributes the growth to corporate vendors noting the significant financial rewards by moving vehicles to a more suitable central hub remarketing facility, from a typically underperforming region.

Michael Tomalin, managing director of City Auction Group: “We believe our centrally positioned remarketing centre based at Rockingham Motor Speedway has immense growth potential to handle auction events either physical, or online, for corporate clients and major dealer groups across the UK.

“The facts are that professional buyers want volume and an easily accessible location at a prestigious venue where they can purchase quality, end of term vehicles.”

City Auction Group has plans to introduce a second online platform at its Rockingham corporate fleet and LCV events specifically for the Irish buyer network.
