Volkswagen Financial Services Fleet (VWFSF) has launched an online WLTP calculator aimed at helping organisations negotiate the uncertainty caused by the new emissions testing regime.

The majority of mainstream fleet cars have now been through the new testing procedure and VWFSF is advising businesses to start planning vehicle options now.

VWFSF's WLTP calculator will help drivers calculate a ‘before and after’ cost comparison for vehicles that have been tested, including benefit-in-kind tax banding, annual tax cost and estimated real-world fuel costs.

Tom Brewer, VWFS Fleet’s head of sales and marketing, said: “We want to advise fleet decision-makers on what can be done now, not just in vehicle choices, but also in planning policy for the years to come.

“We are proactively contacting our customers to advise them on their vehicle choices not just now, but right through to 2021, when the full scope of the new WLTP regulations take effect.”

He added: “We have light commercial vehicle WLTP to come in 2019, then the roll-out of the more accurate Real Driving Emissions standard (RDE) – which comes in two phases, in April 2020 and January 2021.”
