Day’s Rental signs-up to Free2Move’s Connect Fleet telematics solution

Vehicle hire company, Day’s Rental, has signed up to Free2Move’s Connect Fleet services telematics solution to help manage its fleet.

Free2Move Connect Fleet will allow Day’s Rental to digitally link to its 8,000 vehicles for information to provide users with greater access to telematics insight and help save save time and money on the fleet, it said.

With access to telemetry data across a range of 1,500 Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall and DS Automobiles vehicles available on the Day’s Rental fleet, Free2Move Connect Fleet provides updates on geolocation, fuel level, mileage and maintenance alerts to support with the day-to-day running of the business.

Michael McCarry, managing director at Day’s Rental, said: “The team at Day’s Rental will always embrace the next technology, so when the opportunity arose to give our ‘Stellantis Fleet’ vehicles the ability to publish to us all mechanical alerts including live odometer, fuel and charge status for EV’s, we added this.

“Now giving us 24/7- and 365-days visibility, we can ensure that all alerts are actioned via our V-Check system, which in turn saves money, reduces downtime, but more importantly the vehicles remain safe and road worthy.”

Data through the Free2Move Connect Fleet service allows businesses ensure efficient operation of processes such as fleet inventory management, vehicle delivery and collection and vehicle maintenance, it said.

The mobility tech company, Free2Move is part of the Stellantis Group, that aims to simplify mobility for private and businesses. It also provides solutions supporting energy transition and fleet management. 

Mark Blundell, managing director at Free2Move UK, said: “Free2Move allows businesses and fleet operators to access a wealth of valuable data to help advance their services to ensure they are delivering optimum efficiency for customers."

Last year, Free2Move Lease brought its leasing, car sharing, rental and telematics offerings together in a central department, to tap into the mobility market.
