Staff from Auto Windscreens raised £1,265 for Prostate Cancer by competing against each other in the ‘Tour De Chesterfield’.

The charity event, which 51 staff took part in, comprised four teams led by the senior members of the business, cycling on static bikes donated by Simply Gym. Each team attempted to cover 138km -  the same distance travelled by Tour de France competitors on the same day.

The fastest team, led by Markerstudy head of group IT, Dan Fiehn, completed the challenge in 3hrs 55mins and the participant with the fastest personal time was keen cyclist and managing director of Auto Windscreens, Chris Thornton.

The company’s head office in Chesterfield also held a bake sale, French themed canteen menu and fancy dress initiative to boost donations to Prostate Cancer UK, totalling £1,265.97.

Thornton said: “I’m thrilled that we were able to garner so much support for this event. Thank you to everyone who donated and took part; I’m very proud to be putting my love of cycling to good use, helping to raise money and awareness for such a worthy cause.”
