Direct Line Group is encouraging its staff to switch to electric vehicles (EVs) by offering them a package of benefits from Zoom EV.

The two companies already work together to provide Direct Line insurance customers a free 12-month bundle offer, which includes cheaper access to public charging networks, nationwide parking, and money off smart home charging units.

Direct Line Group, which operates insurance firms Direct Line and Churchill, is now extending the offer to its employees by offering Zoom EV’s package as part of its electric car scheme.

Vicky Wallis, chief people officer at Direct Line Group said: “We know electric cars are the future. It’s why as a business we now offer an EV bundle to new Direct Line Customers, why we’re training our technicians in repairing electric vehicles and future car technology, and why we aim to have the most energy-efficient repair network in the UK. Just as we want our customers to go greener we also want to support our employees to overcome the obstacles holding them back from making the switch to a greener vehicle.”

Greg Fairbotham, CEO at Zoom EV, added:  “We are still at the very start of the EV revolution in the UK, but sustainability has never been higher on people’s agendas. The encouragement and reassurance our bundle provides will support Direct Line Group in creating an environmentally conscious work setting as EV ownership is simplified for staff.”
