Edwin James Group has appointed Ctrack by Inseego as its telematics partner to support its transformation of its fleet.

The facilities engineering services business will use the web-based Ctrack Online to monitor its fleet of 265 vans.

Mark Longley corporate services director at Edwin James Group, said: “As part of the transformation of the business, supporting our ambitious growth strategy, we have been implementing simplified, streamlined and consistent processes across the group.

“As part of this, we needed a single vehicle tracking solution that would enable us to enhance performance, improve driver behaviour, safeguard staff and protect our reputation.

“We teamed up with Ctrack based on their proven expertise within the marketplace and the advanced functionality of the system.”

Ctrack was awarded the contract after a tender process.

The fleet had previously used vehicle tracking, but this will mark the first time a centralised system will be in place to provide complete visibility and control over its fleet.

Also included is a Driver ID solution, so the company will know which driver is behind the wheel at all times, knowing their real-time work performance.

Its fleet will now be tracked with a detailed reporting package which includes an executive dashboard and speed band report.

Steve Thomas, managing director of Ctrack, said: “We are committed to providing the highest levels of expertise and support to ensure we implement vehicle tracking solutions that deliver maximum benefits in the shortest timescales.

“We are delighted that Edwin James selected Ctrack above all the other tracking systems they considered.”

Earlier this year, Swarco Traffic adopted the Ctrack Mobi app to improve road safety and compliance.

The company made the decision to use the mobile tool to promote responsible driving across its van fleet as well as enable daily vehicle inspections to be performed quickly and effectively.
