EPC-UK has taken delivery of eight new Isuzu D-Max pick-up trucks with more than another 60 due to join them during 2022.

The company, which works in the field of commercial explosives and drilling and blasting services, is planning to evolve towards a fleet that is capable of reducing and offsetting costs and emissions.

This is beginning with hybrid company cars being introduced for executives as well as investing in fuel-efficient vehicles for on-site use in quarries.

Anthony Bird, driver training manager at EPC-UK, said: “We renew the vehicles within our fleet every three years, considering the latest machines to be environmentally impactful.

“Our last generation of Isuzu D-Max was still Euro 6 compliant and used 1.9-litre power units, however, we wanted improvements in our MPG figures – as going further for less diesel has a significant impact on our operation, as well as emissions.

“We are keen to embrace technological advancements as they develop before us and are committed to equipping our team with vehicles in the here-and-now that can further reduce our environmental impact.”

EPC-UK will mainly use the D-Max in off-road conditions around the quarries and transporting equipment.
