Mercedes-Benz X Class price and specification announced

Mercedes-Benz has announced pricing and specifications for the new X-Class pick up, which is available to purchase from £27,310 (ex VAT).

All UK vehicles are double cab, with 4Matic selectable all-wheel drive and low-range, drive selection mode and multi-link rear suspension.

First deliveries for vehicles ordered now are expected in January 2018.

Customers can choose from three model lines to suit different lifestyles and work environments: the Pure basic variant for classic robust use, Progressive for higher requirements in terms of quality feel and comfort, and Power as the high-end variant for urban lifestyles.

The X-Class is initially offered with a choice of two engines: the X 220 d offering 163PS or the X 250 d offering 190PS. A V6-powered X 350 d will be launched in mid-2018.

PURE

The entry-level X-Class Pure model is only available with the six-speed manual transmission 220 d engine, and offers a rear bumper with integrated step, halogen headlights and a radiator grille with matt black finish.

Inside, the Pure model offers a manually adjustable driver and passenger seat, with a large storage compartment in the centre console, incorporating an armrest and cupholder. The model also offers semi-automatic air-conditioning with high gloss black details in the air vents.

X-Class Pure models are offered with 17-inch steel wheels as standard.

PROGRESSIVE

The mid-level X-Class, which is £1,200 more than the Pure model, is offered with a choice of either the 220 d or the 250 d engine.

The Progressive model line also offers painted bumpers with a simulated under guard in matt black; aluminium door sills featuring ‘Mercedes-Benz’ lettering; chrome door handles; load securing rail system; heated exterior mirrors; and a radiator grille with iridium silver matt finish.

Inside, it comes with black fabric upholstery and an aluminium trim, with automatic dimming interior mirror with integrated compass function, illuminated sun visors, lighting for the front foot well and exit lamps, and chrome air vents.

X-Class Progressive models are offered with 17-inch six-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels in vanadium silver as standard.

POWER

The high-level X-Class, which is £3,500 above the Progressive model, is offered in conjunction with the 250 d engine only, and features painted bumpers with simulated under guard in chrome; a rear bumper in chrome with integrated step; fog lights with chrome surround; shoulder line trim strips in chrome; LED high-performance headlights with cleaning system; LED tail lights; electrically folding exterior mirrors; and Keyless Go, all as standard.

Inside, the Power line comes with eight-way electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats as standard, with Artico leather and microfibre upholstery, with an Artico leather dashboard with topstitching, complimented by a black, high-gloss interior trim.

X-Class Power models are offered with 18-inch six-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels in Himalaya grey, as standard.

Option packages

With seven option packages, the X-Class can be customised to suit the individual requirements of the owner.

Style Package, specifically developed for the Power model line, includes privacy glass; electric rear windows; running boards; roof rails; and 19-inch six twin-spoke light alloy wheels (£1,345 ex VAT).

Style Package for the Progressive model adds LED high-performance headlights with LED daytime running lights; LED tail lights; privacy glass; running boards; roof rails; and 18-inch six twin-spoke light alloy wheels (£2,190 ex VAT).

As an interior pack for the Progressive model, Comfort Package features eight-way electrically adjustable driver and front passeger seat with lumbar adjustment; automatic climate control; Artico leather with microfibre upholstery; and a storage net for the passenger foot well (£1,235 ex VAT).

Parking Package, which is available on the Progressive and Power models, includes parking sensors and 360˚ camera, which features networked cameras in the front grille, wing mirrors and tailgate to capture a complete bird’s-eye view of the vehicle’s immediate surroundings to assist in avoiding obstacles and pedestrians when parking (£570 ex VAT).

Plus Package is offered on the Pure model, and features parking sensors and load rail securing system (£700 ex VAT).

Winter Package, available across all three model lines, adds headed seats and heated washer fluid jets (£340 ex VAT), while Smoker Package adds an ashtray for the cupholder and lighter in the 12V socket (£30 ex VAT).
