Fiat has launched a 1.2 Eco version of its 500, which produces 99g/km of CO2.

The 69hp model features efficiency technology such as a smart alternator, improved underbody aerodynamics and low rolling resistance 15-inch tyres, as well as a start/stop system.

The CO2 emissions figure of 99g/km cuts the annual road tax bill from £20 to £0 and reduces company car BIK tax liability from 17% to 14% compared to the standard 1.2 69hp model, which produces 110g/km.

The new Eco model has an official combined fuel economy of 65.7mpg.
