Mercedes-Benz adds SLC 180 to range, with frugal petrol engine

Mercedes-Benz has expanded the SLC range with a new entry-level SLC 180 AMG Line, priced from £32,039 OTR.

The SLC 180 features a turbo-charged 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 156PS and 250Nm, while returning up to 48.7mpg comined.

It can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 140mph. CO2 emissions of 132g/km mean a 40% taxpayer will have to fork out £264 per month in Benefit-in-Kind tax.

Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, Artico seats, Active Brake Assist, cruise control, sports suspension and sports braking system.
