Vauxhall is taking orders for the new Corsa GSi, priced from £18,995.

It is based on the same chassis as the high-performance Corsa VXR, but the GSi comes with a more-efficient 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

It develops 150PS and emits 139g/km of CO2 under the latest emissions test.

As a company car, the Corsa GSi will cost drivers (20% taxpayer) less than £100 per month in Benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax.

GSi models boast a sportier look than regular Corsas, with more aggressive bumpers, side skirts and a rear spoiler.

Standard specification includes 17-inch alloy wheels, dark tinted rear windows and LED daytime running lights.

Inside, sports-style front seats, a leather-covered flat-bottom steering wheel and IntelliLink infotainment, offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, complete the package.

For an extra £1,900, the GSi Plus Pack adds of 18-inch alloy wheels, Recaro leather seats and bi-xenon headlights with cornering light.
