Peugeot to supply Ecolab with new fleet vehicles

Peugeot has supplied Ecolab with a fleet of new vans and cars to service its expanding business in the UK and Ireland.

Initially the water, hygiene and energy technologies specialist will take 185 Peugeot vehicles, with further supplied in line with the company’s replacement cycle.

Eventually the business will operate a Peugeot-only LCV fleet.

The new vehicles are funded by LeasePlan, which will provide them on a four-year contract that includes maintenance and accident management.

The new Ecolab LCV fleet is made up of Partner and Expert vans. These will be put to work for the company’s Pest and Water Divisions, with some vehicles used at Ecolab’s manufacturing sites.

Peugeot was successful in securing the new business with Ecolab from a competitor that had supplied the company with LCVs for a number of years.

The vans have all been professionally converted by racking specialist Tevo to meet Ecolab’s operational user requirements. Ecolab has chosen the Professional specification which includes: air conditioning, rear parking aid, colour touchscreen with integrated navigation, DAB, Bluetooth and USB socket as standard.

The cars being supplied to Ecolab include 3008 SUV and 308 SW models.

“Ecolab needs efficient, fit for purpose vehicles providing optimum whole life cost”, says Gerallt Williams, Ecolab country manager for the UK and Ireland and European Safety and Security manager. “The Partner has proven reliability, competitive fuel efficiency and meets our objectives with regard to sustainability. Furthermore, warranty and goodwill support from Groupe PSA with regard to technical issues is second to none."

Ecolab operates 1,000 vehicles in the UK and Ireland, of which over 400 are dedicated LCVs.

“Winning the Ecolab fleet business from a major competitor that had kept the business for 10 years is a really important achievement for us”, commented Groupe PSA fleet director Martin Gurney. “We know how competitive the Peugeot LCV range is where reliability and whole life costs are concerned and it means a great deal when a customer is so enthusiastic about the benefits this will bring them. We are looking forward to working with Ecolab as the company expands its operations in the UK and across Europe.”
