The E-208 GTi uses a 280PS electric motor, which sends power to the front wheels via a limit-slip differential. It can sprint to 62mph from rest in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 112mph.

A 54kWh battery provides a range of up to 217 miles (WLTP) and can be recharged in 4 hrs 40 mins from a 7.4 kW AC charger. A new ‘80% charge limitation’ function also allows the charge level to be adapted to daily use. For more intensive uses, the E-208 GTi can be charged from 20-80% in less than 30 minutes from a 100 kW DC rapid charger.

Peugeot has lowered the car by 30mm and increased the track width, giving a more sporty appearance. The car's wheel arches have also been widened to house GTi specific wheels, while new bumpers help differentiate the GTi from other variants.

On the inside, red carpets and seatbelts, along with sports seats, enhance the package.

To support the additional power, an improve driveability, Peugeot Sport engineers have overhauled the 208's suspension and steering, recalibrated the ESP system and equipped the car with larger brakes.

Pricing for the Peugeot E-208 GTi is yet to be confirmed.
