Volvo has confirmed the pricing and specifications for its Polestar tuned 405PS plug-in hybrid S60, V60 and XC60 models.

Despite packing more the twice the horsepower of a typical company car, the Polestar Engineered versions emit from just 48g/km.

Prices start at £56,105 for the S60 T8 Polestar, rising to £64,545 for the high-power XC60.

Polestar Engineered models us the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and plug-in hybrid system as the regular T8 versions, although power is boosted from 390PS to 415PS.

The S60 can accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds, making it the fastest accelerating Volvo ever made. It also offers 27 miles of zero-emission driving, with a WLTP fuel economy figure of 104mpg.

New brakes, suspension and lightweight alloy wheels ensure the Polestar versions deliver as many thrills in the bends as they do in a straight line.

The tuning also extends the transmission, which is reconfigured to complement the additional power.

All Polestar versions are based on the R-Design Plus (S60 and V60) or R-Design Pro (XC60) specification.

Additional features include gold seatbelts and gold stitching on the dashboard, plus 19-inch (S60/V60) or 21-inch (XC60) alloy wheels.

The Polestar Engineered models are on sale now, with first customer deliveries scheduled before the end of the year.
